Creating Excellence

Becoming an A+ School is intended to be used by first-year principals who have inherited a school that is failing or not achieving the desired level, as well as by seasoned principals who are struggling to improve their school’s academic performance. It can also be used effectively as a textbook for graduate students preparing for a career in educational leadership and by parents and community members who want to hold schools accountable and assist in the school’s improvement efforts.

A LIGHT UNTO MY PATH

Dr. Vernon G. Smith served as a classroom teacher for five years, a school principal for 20 years, and a city councilman for 18 years. Currently, he is in his 31st year as an Indiana State Representative and his 29th year as a Professor of Education and Educational Leadership Coordinator at Indiana University Northwest. In this book he chronicles historical events from his youth to the present day he believes God used to direct him into his careers and support him to achieve his assigned mission on earth.
